Join Our Consumer Advisory Council
At Asthma Australia, we’re guided by your insights, experiences, and needs because we know that meaningful change starts with listening to you. That’s why we’re inviting Expressions of Interest to join our Consumer Advisory Council (CAC)—a space where your voice can shape the future of asthma care and support for the nearly 2.8 million Australians living with asthma.
Asthma Australia has been the leading charity for people with asthma and their communities for over 60 years. We believe by listening to those living with asthma, designing solutions with them, and influencing change on the things that matter most to them, people with asthma can live freely, unrestricted by their asthma.
Our Consumer Advisory Council (CAC) was formed in 2018 to guide the development of our Strategic Plan and Consumer Engagement Strategy and Plan. The CAC continues to be an integral part of our consumer engagement practices, ensuring we are listening to the voices of lived experience and including them at all stages of our work.
We are pleased to announce that we are accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI’s) for seven new Council members.
Purpose
The purpose of the CAC is to support Asthma Australia’s commitment as a consumer centred organisation to effectively meet the diverse needs of people with asthma and those who care for them, by providing advice, information and guidance to the Board and Management on;
- the policies, services and practices essential to support people with asthma and their carers, with particular representation from priority population groups.
- the development and delivery of the Asthma Australia Consumer Engagement Strategy.
You can find our Consumer Advisory Council’s purpose and objectives, roles and responsibilities, guiding principles and membership composition, as well as the Terms of Reference here.
Who is it for?
Asthma Australia values the expertise and participation of all members of the CAC and welcomes nominations from people with asthma and carers of people with asthma from across Australia.
