About our Digital and Data Advisory Committee

At Asthma Australia, we are on a mission to halve avoidable asthma-related hospitalisations by 2030. This can only be achieved by harnessing digital and data-enabled solutions to improve health outcomes for people with asthma.

Our Digital and Data Advisory Committee (DDAC) play a vital role in guiding us on this journey by providing expert advice, information and recommendations on the latest in digital health and data technologies. The DDAC are responsible for:

  • Advising on trends in digital health, including Generative AI, digital inclusion and commercialisation.  
  • Guiding the development and implementation of Asthma Australia’s Digital Health Strategy.
  • Providing insights on data and optimisation for improved health outcomes.
  • Connecting Asthma Australia with leaders in digital health and technology.
  • Offering expertise on future technologies and commercial ventures in the digital space.

Dr. Louise Schaper
Chair

Dr Louise Schaper is on a mission to fix healthcare and to enhance human healthspan. As an internationally renowned digital health leader with 15 years of executive experience, Louise is a passionate advocate leveraging technology to achieve better health outcomes and innovating the health ecosystem at scale.

With a background as an occupational therapist, a PhD in health informatics, and recognition as a Fellow of both the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics and the Australasian Institute of Digital Health, Louise brings a wealth of expertise to the field. Through her company, the Health Intelligence Agency, she advises companies, start-ups, boards and governments on health innovation, strategy, policy, commercialisation, product development, global expansion, and market positioning.

Louise is also the host of the popular Pulse💗 podcast, where she explores the latest in digital health and innovation. Deeply engaged with the digital health community, she is always online, and yes, she does have the coolest job!

In her role on our Board, Louise offers strong leadership and governance experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a relentless drive to improve health outcomes through technology—aligning perfectly with Asthma Australia’s strategic focus for the coming years. Louise is a member of the Finance Audit and Risk Management Committee, and the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) at Asthma Australia.

Robab Abdolkhani

Dr Robab Abdolkhani

Dr. Robab Abdolkhani has an academic background in health informatics with over 10 years of expertise in research, teaching, project management, and healthcare informatics leadership. Throughout her career, Robab has contributed to the design, implementation, and evaluation of digital health solutions, as well as guideline development and policy consulting. She has held key national and international administrative and leadership roles, co-leading committees on data-driven healthcare improvement and AI strategies.

Her work focuses on bridging academia and the healthcare and tech industries by advancing digital health solutions, fostering innovation, and translating research into healthcare practice and policy. Robab’s research specialises in data governance and quality management for AI-enabled wearables and remote patient monitoring initiatives addressing the critical intersection of technology and human-centred care.

As a strong advocate for healthcare innovation and equity, Robab is dedicated to supporting data-driven improvements and empowering healthcare systems to embrace transformative technologies.

Emma Anderton Emma Anderton

Emma is a passionate advocate for improving health outcomes for people with asthma after losing her mother to severe asthma in 2012. Following this personal tragedy, she dedicated the following years to raising her young family before pursuing higher education in biomedical science.

Emma completed a Bachelor of Science with Edith Cowan University in 2023, where she focused her studies on developing an understanding of the aetiology and pathophysiology of asthma. She is currently pursuing a Master of Medical Science Leadership with the University of Technology Sydney and has developed strong research skills and expertise in data governance, innovation, science communication, and evidence-based policy, with a particular interest in translation science.

As a student member of Asthma Australia’s Digital and Data Advisory Committee, Emma brings a fresh perspective that draws on her academic background and lived experience. Emma is committed to contributing meaningfully to the committee’s work while continuing to grow as a leader in medical science and health translation.

Adam Bird

Adam Bird

Adam Bird is a seasoned digital and data strategist with extensive experience across Digital Marketing, Customer Experience, Product Design & Development, Cybersecurity, and Data & AI. As the co-founder of Raised by Robots, Adam has been instrumental in guiding businesses through the complexities of digital transformation, ensuring practical and impactful solutions.

Adam’s involvement with organisations like Asthma Australia stems from his personal and professional ties to respiratory health, which include family members in the medical profession and related industry interests. He is passionate about leveraging technology and data to improve health outcomes and empower communities.

Adam also serves as an Advisory Board Member for other initiatives and brings a hands-on, empathetic approach to all his roles.

Paul Hewett

Paul Hewett

Paul Hewett is CEO of In Marketing We Trust, a global digital marketing consultancy based in Sydney. With over 20 years’ experience, Paul has founded and led multiple successful data and digital businesses, working with enterprise brands such as Airbus, eBay, Expedia, and Salesforce.

Under his leadership, In Marketing We Trust has been recognised as one of Australia’s most innovative firms by the Australian Financial Review for its commercial applications of Machine Learning and AI in digital marketing. Paul specialises in driving measurable commercial performance, optimising marketing effectiveness, and leveraging data to achieve tangible results in competitive markets.

Paul has extensive experience advising businesses on integrating data-driven strategies and meeting data privacy and governance requirements. He played an active role during the development of GDPR, helping organisations navigate new regulatory frameworks, and continues to provide strategic guidance on compliance in today’s evolving digital landscape.

He has chaired the UK’s Direct Marketing Association (West Country) and serves on IAB Australia’s Data Council, contributing to best practices for leveraging data responsibly in digital marketing.

BARBARA IOPPI Barbara Ioppi

Committed to advancing virtual care and leading transformation in the complex healthcare environment, Barbara counts years of experience in successful Telehealth program implementation and coordination in a large Metro health service, utilising technology to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Her strategic vision has made her a trusted advocate for leveraging digital health in consolidating best practices and evidence-based care. As the former Chair of the Victoria Telehealth Community of Practice, Barbara is passionate about fostering collaboration with leaders in the digital health landscape and welcomes the opportunity to join Asthma Australia’s Digital and Data Advisory Committee.

Francis Liu

Francis Liu

Francis Liu is a digital professional with a dynamic and varied career. He is currently working as Head of the Agile Centre of Enablement at eHealth NSW.

Francis has worked in telecommunications, IT professional services, and software and his roles have spanned infrastructure, product development, project and program design, and governance. He has successfully led and played pivotal roles in complex initiatives in complex organisations, ensuring innovative digital solutions are strategically implemented. He regularly advises and supports senior leadership.

In addition to technical excellence, he is deeply committed to fostering inclusive and equitable workplaces where everyone can thrive, and is a member of the Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Council at eHealth NSW. This blend of technical proficiency and dedication to inclusive leadership underscores Francis’s holistic approach to driving change in a dynamic digital landscape.

Francis also has lived experience of childhood asthma, adult asthma and its management.

David O'Driscoll David O’Driscoll

With over 40 years of experience in the digital sector, David is a seasoned consultant who delivers innovative and effective solutions for complex problems in health, research, and other domains. He has a strong background in strategy development, information management, and enterprise architecture.

David’s mission is to enable better health outcomes, value, and equity through the sharing and use of data and the adoption of digital health and genomics in healthcare. He has led and contributed to many projects and initiatives that have helped shape the national landscape of digital health and genomics. David provides high-level consulting services in the areas of strategy, digital health, information management to governments, healthcare organisations and research groups.

Arthur Ong Arthur Ong

Arthur is a seasoned engineering and digital technology professional with extensive expertise in digital health innovation and commercialisation. He has collaborated with startups, healthcare institutions, research bodies, and national hospital groups to build long-term partnerships rooted in trust and deliver impactful outcomes.

With a strong focus on digital health, Arthur is passionate about translating innovative ideas into commercially viable solutions that deliver meaningful impact. He specialises in bridging the gap between concept and commercialisation, helping organisations navigate the complexities of scaling technologies in highly regulated environments.

Arthur has held CEO roles at Olinqua, AllergyPal, and Progressive Medical, where he has driven growth and fostered collaboration across diverse teams and industries. As a trusted advisor to C-level executives and operational leaders, he leverages his strategic insight and extensive network to support organisations in scaling their impact, advancing healthcare outcomes, and driving sustainable innovation.

REBECCA PSELLOS Rebecca Psellos

Rebecca is a healthcare leader with over 20 years of experience in clinical, strategic, and advisory roles. She began her career as a Physiotherapist, working in Australia and the UK, before transitioning into healthcare consulting. Specialising in strategy, transformation, clinical redesign, and virtual care, Rebecca’s expertise lies in integrating digital services, system interoperability, and data-driven decision-making to create effective healthcare solutions. She has a deep commitment to supporting those with respiratory conditions, having previously served on the Board of Cystic Fibrosis South Australia. Passionate about advancing healthcare with technology, Rebecca recently completed a postgraduate qualification in AI in Healthcare at UNSW. She combines her clinical background with her strategic insight to drive impactful, patient-centred healthcare solutions.

Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Adelaide.

She is currently the General Manager of Strategy and Delivery at Bupa.

Anuj Saraogi Dr. Anuj Saraogi

Dr. Anuj Saraogi brings nearly two decades of expertise in digital health, strategic transformation, and leadership to Asthma Australia’s Digital and Data Advisory Committee (DDAC). A Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health (AIDH), Dr Saraogi holds qualifications in medicine (MBBS), an MBA, and a Master of Health Administration. His career spans leading statewide and national initiatives, including contributing to the National Telehealth Standards Committee.

Dr. Anuj Saraogi’s dual perspective as a clinician and leader fosters a deep commitment to enhancing patient outcomes and experiences. He is passionate about harnessing technology to not only improve patient care but also streamline workflows and reduce administrative burdens for medical staff, enabling them to focus on what they do best — caring for patients.

With a strong focus on patient-centered care and innovation, Dr Saraogi is keen to collaborate with DDAC to advance digital and data-driven solutions that support healthcare professionals and improve outcomes for Australians living with asthma.

Porscha Sinoch Porscha Sinoch

Porscha Sinoch is a dedicated healthcare professional currently working in Business Development with the MedicAlert Foundation. With over a decade of experience in Community Health service development and leadership across various states, Porscha brings a unique perspective shaped by her upbringing in remote Northern Territory.

In 2016, Porscha developed severe asthma following the Thunderstorm Asthma event in Melbourne, further fueling her passion for improving healthcare accessibility. She is particularly enthusiastic about emerging health technologies and their potential to revolutionise healthcare delivery. She is committed to leveraging digital tools to make health and community services more accessible to all Australians, especially those in remote areas. Porscha is excited to be part of the ongoing changes in Australia’s digital health environment, working towards a more connected and person-centered health system.
