Inhaler Aid
An Inhaler aid is a device that can help if you have trouble pressing down when using a puffer (MDI). It allows you to grip and squeeze, instead of pressing down. It attaches to the outside of the MDI puffer.
It is important to make sure your inhaler aid will suit your inhaler. Check the amount of doses that your inhaler contains to confirm you have the right size.

How to use an Inhaler Aid
- Open inhaler aid and pop inhaler in
- Press the inhaler in (allowing you to squeeze)
- Remove inhaler cap
- Hold inhaler upright and shake well
- Breathe out slowly and gently, away from the inhaler until your lungs feel empty
- Put the mouthpiece between teeth without biting and close lips to form a good seal
- Breathe in slowly through the mouth and, at the same time, squeeze firmly on the Haleraid
- Keep breathing in slowly and deeply and hold breath for about 5 – 10 seconds or as long as comfortable
- While holding breath, remove inhaler from mouth
- Breathe out gently, away from inhaler
- If an extra dose is needed, repeat steps 4 to 10
- Replace cap
